First visit - what to expect //

New patient forms

On your first visit, you will be welcomed by our receptionist and given new patient forms to complete. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

After reviewing your new patient forms, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your health concerns, and your expectations and desired treatment outcomes. This visit is designed to provide the doctor a chance to learn more about you, your condition, and to determine if chiropractic care can help you meet your health goals.

Examination

After the initial consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination. This will include vital signs, orthopedic exams, posture check, range of motion testing. If x-rays are needed, you will be referred to a radiology center conveniently located on Bonita Beach Road.

Treatment

After reviewing your history, examination findings and goals, the doctor will recommend treatment for you. Should you choose to receive treatment, this may include chiropractic adjustments, physiotherapy, stretching, or exercises. Treatment will depend on your specific condition.

Phases of Care //

Phase 1: Relief Care

People often go to the chiropractor because they are in pain. The main goal of the first phase of care is to reduce your symptoms. In this stage of care, you generally have two to three visits per week, for a short period of time.

Pain is a very poor indicator of health and function. With chiropractic care, pain is usually the first symptom to resolve. The underlying condition may still remain.

Phase 2: Corrective Care

Elimination of symptoms is often the easiest part of care. In order to prevent a rapid recurrence of symptoms, it is often necessary to continue care. In this stage of care, you will have fewer visits than you received in the first phase of care. The doctor may recommend exercises and stretches to help your healing. Mild flare-ups may occur during this phase as your body is not yet healed.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

After your body has fully healed, routine care can help your body function in optimal condition. Routine chiropractic care is an important part of your lifestyle, like continued exercise and healthy eating. Your joints will last longer, and you will be able to engage in a more healthy and active lifestyle.
